Terms of use: version dated 18 October 2026
Trace Logo's provides free access to a brand logo catalog. These terms describe use of the catalog and original project materials. See the copyright notice (RU/EN) for the distinction between rights and LICENSE (RU/EN) for source code licensing.
1. Permitted use
- Search, view and download logos using the catalog's normal functions.
- Use logos in personal, educational and commercial projects while respecting their owners' rights and applicable law.
- Link to Trace Logo's and individual catalog pages.
- Use public integrations under their applicable licenses and terms.
Third-party logos and trademarks belong to their respective rights holders. The catalog does not license them on their behalf or imply brand endorsement. Check brand guidelines, licenses or another lawful basis for use, and obtain the owner's permission where required. Free downloading does not guarantee that every subsequent use is lawful.
Public JSON indexes may be read for search, logo links and integrations. Full index downloads, local caching and updates contemplated by those integrations are permitted, including for commercial projects. This is not a general license to republish a protected catalog, authored descriptions or design. Earlier broader permissions remain effective.
2. Protected materials
Original design, graphics and authored text, including brand descriptions, are protected insofar as they are creative works and the relevant rights belong to the project's rights holders. Original selection and arrangement, including catalog structure, may qualify for compilation copyright where statutory requirements are met (Articles 1259 and 1260 of the Russian Civil Code). Source code protection is subject to applicable licenses.
The database maker's right applies only where statutory requirements, including substantial investment in creation, processing or presentation, are met, within its applicable term and territory (Articles 1333–1336). This is a separate ground for protection requiring evidence; the existence of a catalog alone does not establish it.
The project claims no exclusive rights in common category names, facts, ideas, methods of organizing information or third-party brand logos. Third-party emoji, fonts, icons and components remain subject to their owners' rights.
3. Uses requiring permission
Unless permitted by an applicable license, earlier permission or law, the following require appropriate permission from the relevant rights holder:
- copying or adapting protected original Trace Logo's design in violation of copyright;
- copying authored brand descriptions or other protected project text;
- reproducing protected original selection or arrangement of catalog materials;
- extracting all or a substantial part of a database and subsequently reusing it, including bulk transfer to competing catalogs, where this infringes a subsisting database maker's right;
- creating service clones using protected materials in which the project's rights holders hold rights;
- distributing those materials as one's own work.
Statutory exceptions remain applicable, including lawful quotation and Article 1335.1 exceptions. That Article's rules on repeated extraction or use of insubstantial database parts apply where the relevant maker's right exists. No fixed percentage threshold for a substantial part is set. Attribution alone does not replace required permission.
Independently developing a competing catalog, collecting materials from lawful sources and using unprotected ideas are not prohibited in themselves.
4. Licenses and earlier permissions
The main website package is designated UNLICENSED; private: true prevents accidental npm publication without making the GitHub repository private. No new blanket package license is granted; LICENSE distinguishes code and content. Previously, the package was designated ISC without express content exclusions; it cannot be assumed that only code was licensed. Previously licensed materials retain their granted rights. No blanket copying permission is granted for new original code not covered by an effective license or permission. Licensed use, copying, modification, distribution and commercial use of code remain permitted. The public npm and VS Code integrations in the separate trace-logos-integrations project are designated MIT; the relevant version's terms apply. Third-party components keep their own licenses.
These terms do not retroactively revoke or narrow earlier rights. If a particular material, including interface elements, templates or design embodied in code, is covered by ISC, MIT or another permission, those rights remain effective and prevail over conflicting restrictions here. Exclusive rights in other protected original materials remain with their respective holders. Free access alone does not permit building clones using such materials.
5. Rights inquiries
Rights holders and their representatives may request attribution corrections, updates or removal. For inquiries or permission, contact sixxset@ya.ru or Telegram @mansurov_rafael. Identify the material, URL, use and basis of the rights. Each report is assessed on its circumstances; similarity alone does not establish infringement.
Materials may be inaccurate or outdated. Users should check suitability and the lawfulness of their particular use. These provisions do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
