Questions about Typograf for Figma

How do I add non-breaking spaces in Figma?

Select a text layer, group or frame, run Typograf and click “Fix typography”. Non-breaking spaces go after prepositions and conjunctions, before particles, between initials, and between a number and its unit.

How do I replace straight quotes with guillemets and hyphens with dashes in Figma?

Same steps: straight and “smart” quotes become «guillemets», hyphens between words become em dashes, three dots become an ellipsis. The plugin also restores the Russian letter yo from a dictionary of unambiguous words. Every rule has its own toggle.

Can I process a whole frame at once?

Yes. The plugin finds all text in nested frames and groups of your selection. Layers longer than 50,000 characters are skipped, and nested quotes are not told apart: one quote level is supported.

How do I install the plugin and where does it work?

The plugin is free. Open its Figma Community page and run it in your file after Figma review.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. The plugin has network access turned off, your text never leaves Figma, and only the toggle positions are stored on your device.

How do I undo the changes?

Press ⌘Z or Ctrl+Z. You can stop processing with the “Stop” button or the Esc key, but edits that were already applied are not rolled back.

How much does the Typograf plugin cost?

How is the plugin different from the Trace Typograf extension?

Typograf works in Figma text layers. The Trace Typograf extension is a separate Chrome product that fixes text in the Taptop and Tilda website builder editors.
